IRO cladding and decking combine to transform deck
John Marshall, owner of Bristol Deck & Fence, in Bristol, was approached by a client with an eye for design and a vision to transform their outdoor space.
His client was looking to create a unique open space in their garden, incorporating steps that led to an upstairs deck area at the back of their home.
After exploring all the options, John’s client decided they wanted to steer away from composite decking and traditional grooved softwood board that so many companies offer.
With this in mind, the landscaper decided to introduce IRO’s external cladding in ‘sunflower’ and decking in ‘mountain’ to his client as an alternative, and they fell in love with the product range.
Manufactured in Britain from imported redwood, IRO decking is a unique range that is designed to enhance all building exteriors due to its exclusive colours, while a water repellent and self-cleaning surface ensures any dirt and dust is washed away with ease.
Alix Lancaster, marketing executive at IRO Timber, said: “Our cladding is manufactured by combining the ancient Japanese process of Yakisugi with the latest timber technology. This created a unique, enhanced grain finish that adds charm and character to a range of outdoor spaces.”
“IRO is unique to the UK market,” explained John. “Their decking and cladding is remarkable to work with and a pleasure to install.”
John added: “Because of its water-repellent nature it is remarkably light to carry and easy to cut, meaning that it doesn’t require sandpaper as other boards might.
“To highlight just how easy the process is, the clients were able to fit the sunken decking lights themselves!”
Bristol Deck & Fence are planning on using IRO again after their successful first installation, and have since pencilled in another order.
IRO Timber is manufactured in Britain and offers customers new and exclusive ranges of timber cladding and decking solutions, which have been developed by BSW Timber, the UK’s largest sawmilling group.
It’s available to order in 15 colours, from driftwood to dragon fruit, so customers can find exactly what they’re looking for in order to add a touch of character to any environment.
